They play it down alot. It'll only be a 5 minute segment... I think they have taken the oppertunity of half the country tuning in to try and showcase what the show is about and hook a bigger audience...

not me, cant stand top gear its nothing more than chav TV. Clarckson isnt even that good anymore if you want to hear him on one of his rants go buy the sunday times and read his satandard column which is much better as its not only cars but life in general

Top Gear is still the best motoring program by miles.

Very entertaining and enjoyable to watch, and about as Chavy as a 1920's Bentley Blower.

Top gear has no relationship to anything to do with motoring anymore. Its about as far removed from the original idea as can be. Its basicaly MAXPOWER on tv.

Having grown up watching the original the first new season was a refreshing change but i for one am tired of seeing cars sliding around a track. Also the concentration on cars that are generaly out of reach to normal people again takes it away from the idea of the original program.

Its not only Top Gear nearly all of the motoring shows have gone the way of the LAD Culture. Pulling power was another fresh idea with proper road test but that changed when viewing numbers dropped so bring in the sideways action.

5th Gear was another stab at a decent motoring show but again slide baby slide is getting old real quick

Yes I thought he was a little different, but there again near death experiences tend to change most people

It could simply be that he's lost a bit of weight. Being hospitalised for that long could have that effect.

the old show was ok, but lets face it wathcing boring family cars being driven boringly while doing a boring road test, is well rather boring.

Sideways action and smoking tyres plus uber fast exotic supercars is much more interesting viewing and as a dedicated petrol head gets my vote every time.

Lets look who owns these so called exotics footballers the biggest chavs out, also hooning a car around a track is as pointless as parking it up and not driving it, maybe you drive like that on a daily basis but 90% of people drive sensibly

I reckon it's more about a group of lads having a laugh together.  Yes they showcase cars that are out of reach of most people, but it is more interesting than the stuff that we could.  It's not really an informative show like it used to be, it's more of a car based entertainment show.

Problem as i see it is once you see one car going sideways its pretty much the same for every other car. On a weekly basis i prefer to be informed but i guess most people dont need to expand there minds and can sit and watch a car goingside ways and get excited.

Im probably one of the most extreme petrol heads going, i cant leave anything stock and have to modify everything. I live in the motorsport capitol of the world all my mates from school work for motorsport companies and as a child went to every motorsport going as it was part of my old mans job to be there for michelin

The point it, the show isn't set up to cater for a 'chav' audiance.... Just because you don't like something doesn't make it chav.... If it was chav then it would be all 'in-your-face' modified cars that are purely cosmetic, draped with scantily clad slappers surounded by 17 year old baseball cap wearing morrons.

I don't think that even a quarter of the chav population of this country would understand the well spoken words or Clarkson, May, and Hammond...
