2007 is looking like a bad year.  Camaro is once again off the road.

I'd noticed some voltage variation over a journey last week, and suspected that my battery may have been dying.  Checked it over the weekend, and it was showing a healthy 12.5 volts over the terminals, as opposed to only 10 at the dash guage.  Problem with the wiring I thought?

Anyway, setting out for work this morning, 10v on the guage again, 1 short click on the starter solenoid, then nothing.  Complete electrical failure

I'm figuring fusilble links or maybe a fuse. Time to dig out the Haynes manual (again)

I often think this.

I would also try another battery if possible first

what voltage do you get when you try to start it - it may be putting 12v without any load, but when loaded what does it put then?

Try your spare battery first and then buy a cheap motorbike like mine

Battery was dead. Put the spare in and everything is working properly again (Well as properly as my car can manage )

I had this problem last year, until I realised that I'd left the interior lights on for 2 weeks after the door didn't slam shut properly!

being garaged, I had no idea!

Oops.

I wish it was something like that on mine.  One day it started OK, the next it wouldn't even power the side lights.  I hoping that's is simply an old battery (been in the car since before I got it 3 years ago, so no idea how old it is) that has finally given up the fight, rather than an akward electrical problem that might be a bugger to find.

I'll be keeping a close eye on the volt meter over the next few weeks.
