O.K.

To bring you all up to speed.

Ever since I saw a slammed '55 Caddy a few year back at a Rock n' Roll weekender I've wanted a Cadillac.

O.K, I've got one . . but specifically I wanted to have a '55 Caddy Sled.

As I had a slack day on Tuesday I decided to have a look at the lines on a '55, do some sketches and see if it suited a chop.

Alas, after an hour or so of looking I came to the conclusion that the '55 would maybe benefit from a chop, but not a sled-style chop.

Oh, well.

Not being a fan of the late forties Caddies I'd initially dismissed them.

But, as the Forum was down, I started looking at them to check the possiblity of sledding a late forties one.

A random check on Ebay and there it was.

It's a sign I tell ya'.

The guy was even planning a 500ci/TH400 combo - my exact choice should I ever do this.

I MUST HAVE IT !!!

EDGE

have you got a side on pic of your caddy, quite a big one ???

well figure in about $1500 for trucking, its gonna have to go container share unless you can get the guy to put a cheap motor in it for you making it driveable

Roadkill

It has no windows . . . It'd have to go via a container.

Roadkill

Just trying to find out how long it is . . .

55starchief

Cant help there my general reference books only cover 50-59 mate

Roadkill

I've got loads of details for 50's Caddies but I'm struggling with earlier ones too . . . .

55starchief

well i would guess it would be simaler to the base 4 door 50's model

Roadkill

Eyeballing it it's around 17'-17'6'' maybe . . . .

55starchief

HardRockCamaro

According to "The Standard Catalogue of Cadillac 1903 - 2000" book that I have it looks like a 1949 Series 61/62

Overall Length:  214 inches

That's 17 foot 10 inches I believe.
