any progress?

Not Yet... I've been rediscovering Transport Tycoon Deluxe instead because someone's patched it to work on Win XP (and also added a load of cool features... as its 11 years old its not exactly taxing on the system... LOL

Its quiz night today so won't be able to test newer games tonight but I have tomorrow off and am planning (after a Lay in) to play some games & generally relax a bit so might get something tomorrow

He's never at work that boy !

i'd point at the mobo not being able to run your mem latency/clock properly

i would look to drop it down to 333 if its at 400 (possibly ntune would let you set it to anything under 400? not sure though
or try it at latency of 3 if its at 2.5

Its at 2-3-3-6 at the moment, I'll set it back to auto-detect again & see what happens.  The memory is at 400mHz and I think thats alterable in the BIOS too.  i'll have a look.

The Processor is at 400mHz FSB which is what it should be.

If i am right, your cas latenency on that must be the 2 (CL)
i'd maybe try it at 2.5 or 3

With the quality of memory you have, its possible that its just being let down by the mobo

Possibly, but that was the only 400mHz FSB Socket A board I could find anywhere...

(Asrock K7NF2-Raid)

If they made memory that good for PC3200 and there isn't a mobo that can take it i'd be suprised...

well i've been playing since about 8pm and its just crashed for the 1st time, I reset the memory to 2.5-3-3-6 and reset the mHz to auto...

I'd try resetting all the bios settings to default. Ideally underclocking both CPU and memory if possible.

I said that back on the 16th. Some people just don't listen do they?

Yeah but we were testing other stuff then...  it might have worked though... we'll see.

You could also try searching Microsoft.com for the same thing.
