Ok...

Did the scan, the progress bar went all the way to the end and that was it... nothing popped up on screen & nothing new was displayed in the command prompt window either

Does that mean that was ok?

I'm not going to be able to do this until tomorrow because i'm busy this afternoon & this evening. I will make sure I can play for a bit tomorrow because...

Another complication has arisen yesterday & today whereby my New GFX card is going to have to go back to be replaced on Monday because the Fan is Faulty (its making masses of grinding noise!)  I can stop it sometimes by briefly prodding the fan but i'm not doing that continously so its going back to Overclockers for them to send me a replacement.

Which means i won't have a PC for a few days as i don't want to re-install the old Nvidia one.

Allanv

Right i am pretty sure that the nvidea one didnt remove properly, unless you removed it after the 14/03

FUBAR

My new ATI card was ordered on the 14/3 so the old card would have been uninstalled soon after that.

Allanv

then it didnt uninstall correctly, will have to find a cleaner for that then, mean while i will go back to building this system for an office

Losty

he has to be careful though, as his motherboard has an nvidia chipset

Allanv

Yup i know.

It all points to drivers, nvidea and something the game is running.  But we still cant rule out faulty ram either... 1 step at a time.

and its time for a Beer this build is done.

Allanv

whats starforce?

Losty

Starforce copy protection

google for it and draw your own conclusions whether its good or bad

My conclusion is that some people have said they have a lot of issues with it, some people never even know its installed

When i was looking through the list of games that ryan had, i realised he had installed Flat Out 2, and if memory serves me correctly, FO2 asks you to install the starforce drivers.

FUBAR

OK this happened tonight, I was meerly listening to iTunes in a drunken stupor at 1:40am (hence the blurry piccy)

Allan, i've emailed you a copy of the dump file associated with this...

FUBAR

This is really odd because this is the 1st time that it's crashed to BSOD or even at all when i've not been playing games...
