Roadkill

Been doing a bit of research and reading up.

Just emailed a local motorcycle training company for info on courses and stuff . . .

I'm desperate to do my bike test this year.

I must do it ! - If I don't do it now, I don't think I ever will !

May give my brother a call and see if I can "hire" one of his bikes to give myself a bit of a taster . . . .

EDGE

i did my cbt a few years back, was a piece of p!ss... the bike test is way harder but very do-able... I'll do the quick access one in a few years when my bike accident has fallen off my record therefore making it cheap to insure..

Yep, it's basically can you ride a bike without falling off/crashing into things.

The proper bike test is more like a normal driving test, but bike oriented (obviously), so a little more complex.

Fieldy

i would like to have a m.bike license....do it dude!

Get your test done before September ??? this year because after that it becomes three tests to ride big bikes and not two as it is now

yeah, plus basic control, turn in the road, emergency stop and a lot of theory too.  Just good road sense and about an hours talk on safety equipment..

I'll be doing my test in the next few years, always handy to have yet another type of license...

CJ-IROCZ

It might have changed since i done it but 6 yeas ago i took a 'direct access' course which let me jump on anything ( was around £400 )

I passed my test and went straight to my local dealer and picked up a brand new bandit 600. 1 year on and i purchased a P reg CBR 600 and then 9 months after that i brought a new R6 and sold that a year later.

wife wont let me get another

Did the trick for me

RK may be you should have a ride around on my beeatch, it'll have to be "off road" somewhere coz it's a 200.

Roadkill

The company just emailed back - 5-day intensive - all-in for £460.

Says I need to book and pass my theory test first - gonna book that tomorrow.

Any chance on a bit of practical tuition, Martyn ?

As soon as I've passed the theory I intend to do the Practical test . . . otherwise I know what I'm like - I'll leave it and leave it . . then forget it !
