Got the dude on ebay to end early for those door and boot weather seals.

That should stop the whistling at 60mph + anyway, and the drops of moisture inside when I wash the car!

Not sure if I paid over the odds (£45 inc postage) as I doubt they are easy to get hold of new over here, and the shipping would no doubt be severe from the US.

Incursus

Sounds like a good deal to me. $30 just for the trunk on the Duster not inc P&P

Giblets

Yeah with the bidding already at £41 I am surprised he agreed to end early. I could see them going for £55 - £60 after some last minute bidding.

Lots of third gen drivers in the UK (and the MK/Beds area!)

He was just another IROC lover and couldn't resist when I sent him a pre-scratch photo of my old girl. ;-)

Roadkill

What's happening with the scratch on the IROC ?

Is it being sorted ?

Roadkill

But why does your ass need weather strips ?

Does it let in the elements ?

Maybe it's to protect those of us on the outside?

Don't count on it...

My car has got all new weatherstrips and it still whistles.

Beat me 2 it

Giblets

I should say less whislting then I guess.

I'm leaving the car with Rocky next week to sort the scratch out. As I'm disgustingly lazy and inept I'm also getting him to plum in my new belts and hood gas struts while it's there.

hood gas struts

Where did you get those ?

As I have none and have to hold my bonnet up with (what looks like) a majorette's staff.

Thats true I'd never thought of that  I got my ones off eBay.

Problem is I think with a fibre glass hood you need different ones ?

FUBAR

Possibly but I think they attach to the hinges rather than the bonnet itself & they would be the same i'd imagine.  Weight is similar too as we know.

Good point.

I Just remember the add saying only suiitable for metal hoods.

Prehaps they mean not suitable for after market (light weight) hoods.

That would make sense...

Giblets

There's a seller on ebay selling a bulk load of them at the mo.

I bought them for about £30 plus postage.

FUBAR

Even the 4th gen does !
When GM designed the 4th gen they finally realised that they were never going to stop the rain getting under the T tops in the first place , so put the main seals further from the edge with a drainage gully , they still create wind noise but don't leak
Here's a picture of mine :

It was a blindly hot and very sunny day last year
I remember it hurting my eyes to look through the camera lens without sunglasses !
