If anyone of those who are coming and were paying for the ticket (AFAIK Dean, Sammy, Phil, Jo, Ryan, Rob & Chris) dont want to come, fair enough i totally understand, but due to me being a bit skint at the mo, i would have to say unless i can get a refund, the total of £46.00 for the ticket would still need to be split 7 ways making it £6.60 each as i just cannot afford it

Vicky's just text me to say Billing are not offering ANY refund at all for this

OK cheers guys re the dosh - next weekend will be fine!!

Well it did rain quite hard @ santa pod today for about 15-20 mins, and think it did the same at Billing, but still very wet all around and VERY slowly draining / drying up..

1/2 of "traders alley" is still under 2" ofr water - they have taken the very rare step of moving the traders to the middle of the bottom field (by the trees) as think this was the only spot that weren't water logged !!!

Plan of action is now to leave it till tomrrow morning, hopefully it stay dty (weather says light showers overnight ande clear in the morning) pack up the van and then head over to Greame's...........

If ya were thinking of coming sunday IMO i wouldn't bother as the main show field is still underwater for vast areas, and even if we have no more rain it will be boggy as hell and get reallllly churned up once people start putting cars etc on there - if anyone does that is!!!

See ya'all tomorrow at G's!!

Thanks for the update Ian, I had a very rare brief visit to the AACI site tonight since it's there show and they are saying nothing
A little unfair on people who may be travelling long distances

Hasn't been updated for some time.....

ianjpage

Well we now in the nice dryness of Graeme's flat and billing is oging to be soooo damp tonight - when we left show field still covered in water and it is sooo waterlogged all round it aint funny - wouldn't surprise me if lots of people drive in the gate, see the field and then go right home - it is that bad

shame to see it happen as the last 2 weekends have been really nice, but what with the ground already wet and then all the rain we have had recently, it is just sitting on the top and not being absorbed......

Thankfully, managed to get the caravan off the grass without too much trouble, slight wheel spoin when moving off but once got moving was all ok......

Badger

Fubar.. are you going to billing tomorrow, if not can you post on here so i dont drive all the way to billing for nothing. Then i can let Daz the trucker know his intake and carb will take a bit longer to get to him.

Incase Ryan does not see this, can someone get in touch with him and post his reply.

Cheers Badger.

Rob

Still raining on and off so I don't think i'll be bothering at all.

Just have to look forward to next week at Stratford.....

F Body

Still raining is an understatement

I was up near Towcester this afternoon and it was torrential

Here's a video at the bottom of our road at about 6pm :

Good job i wasn't driving

Looks like Harry has no time to update the forum with a simple post saying "the field is under water in most places" but does have the time to read this forum and form a long post in response to posts on here.

Thing is, he's not in charge of the weather so no-one is blaming him for this.  So why not post on Friday with a pic of the field saying this is what it's like now and we're hoping it'll get better by Sunday.  Then again on Saturday with an update?

It's all very well saying the ticket gate at Billing will tell you before you pay that the place is very boggy so you can change your mind and go home if you choose, but that's several hours travelling across the country wasted that could have been avoided if you had been informed via the forum.

No time to make a 2 minute post?  Come on!  And if he was that busy why not just ask someone else to post on his behalf?

It shows a real poor attitude.

I was going to go today and had been holding out some hope up until yesterday evening that it might dry out but we weren't thast lucky so I called it off.  Shame as it's the only show I was planning on going to this year.

I'd have been well miffed if I'd turned up there this morning unaware.  Especially as when it's sunny (and thus busier) on a Saturday there are normally plenty of posts by his nibbs showing the field and telling us how great it is.

Rocky

Decided not to go aswell s will probably go to the NSRA supernats instead this year.

Rocky

Pictures on the POC are even worse they are recommending people dont go.

Rocky

Real shame as it is one of the best shows of the year and its well put together and organised and the rain spoils it.

Jo

We drove past Billing last night and the rain was so hard and fast we were driving at 20mph and couldn't see the road in places due to 2" of surface water

Some of the puddles were bloody massive and we had to drive real slow through them to make sure we got through them ok, never seen rain like it.

Titsy

It's a real shame when the weather impacts so much hard work that goes into organising an event like that....

That said, having seen some pics, it looks like people worked hard to make the best of it, and fair play to them for that...

HardRockCamaro

Indeed, you have to admire the ones who go no matter what.

Hats off to them.
