Well, either that or a damn fine engineer !

Tuesday.

In South Wales for holiday . . . Chav'scort exhaust is blowing a bit. No biggie - it'll last.

Tuesday evening - Just pulling back into the caravan site, over a speed bump - BANG !

The pipe from the cat' shears off, completely.

Bugger.

O.K.

I've got no tools on me - not even a jack to have a better look.

What's in the boot ?

Ahh-Ha ! - Handrail tube I nicked from work and was gonna use in the garden.

An internal splint I'm thinking . . .

O.K, It's too long . . . no matter - I'll go to Homebase and buy a Hacksaw . . . .

First I need to tie the pipe up, though as the rear hanger is already rusted off and the pipe's twisted through 30* and is dragging on the floor.

What's in the boot ?

Rope !

The rear tied up :

The centre section "retained" around the handbrake cable.

Cool - I head off to Homebase - 6 miles - Sounding louder then the Camaro . . and ten times worse.

It's sickeningly loud, the vibrations churning your gut . . . Not good.

I thankfully manage to dodge the Old bill and make it to Homebase, aquire a Bacho Hacksaw and chop the tube to fit.

The pipe need some gentle encouragement to mate with the cat' but all goes well and I mange to kick the rear section onto the "splint".

Hey presto !

It worked.

I did a further 400 miles like that - Yes it still blows badly but a major improvement.

My proudest exhaust bodge . . . . . And believe me, I've conducted a few.

Roadkill

Side note.

I plan to use it like that until the insurance runs out and I get a replacement . . . . In three weeks.

Before I'd say it was worth a few quid (note : FEW).

However it now needs centre and rear sections so I'd guess it least £150.

I'll either wreck it or put it on ebay for £1.
