I quite like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a bit of a sleeper..  my 'old man car' has embarrised many chav racers..  this morning was quite funny with a clio with so many bits of halfords stuck to it and the obligatory bake bean can exhaust..  popped it into 3rd, dropped the clutch and just glided passed him as he was leaning forward in his seat to go faster!!!!1111

Btw, try calling him, he picks up cars everyweek, i bought the Ford the day it arrived in..  But he might know of something else he can get..

I'm worried RK

With your Maintenance schedules I stay well away from anything with :

A / A cam belt.

B / Catastrophic engine failure when said cam belt fails.

Nah, he'll be alright.  I'm sure he'll have something in the boot that will

A - get him out of trouble should the need arise
B- be left there for another few thousand miles

Roadkill

I'm looking for one that's had it's Cambelt done - hence 110,000 miles not 95,000 miles.

Pushrods for the win

Can't decide if this would be a good vehicle for RK or not

I had a 90's Honda and it seemed unbreakable, but they are usually fairly complex compared to a Chavscort

Depends if I jump it and it goes bad . . .

Oh, you mean that . . .

Yeah, with the exhaust gone it's not economical to keep and the insurance runs out early July, so -

God I hate modern cars.

I've just spent the last hour trying to get motovated about a new car.

Alas, the thought of yet another P.O.S everydayer which I don't actually want makes me feel dead inside.

All the half interesting ones are gonna be too expensive to run and/or unsuitable for my requirements.

Some thing like a tidy Mondeo or Vectra would be ideal then, they drive OK, are confortable and well equipped

So as dull as ditch water but they make the miles roll by

Ok i have to get another car sorted also, Dont know if the MPG will be alright for you, Its an American model but out runs Imprezas.

Roadkill

Post some details, Mate . . . I'll have a look

Motorama

Look for a late ninties Vectra 2.0 Di, i had 2 from new and they both did nearly 300k with no major repairs. One of them did 275 before its first clutch change and they both had the original gearbox in them. No cambelt either.

I've been recommended the Diesel Vectras . . . Problem is, compared to the Diesel Mondeos, they're as rare as rocking-horse $hit !

I've got two weeks . . then I must've found something.

I'd prefer a Vauxhall, TBH, but it's whatever comes up.

Welcome back to GM

Roadkill

This is Fekking hard work !

I called a guy earlier about a '98 Vectra GLS for £775.

Looked O.K in piccys but didn't state mileage . . . . . 150,000 !

"That's why it's cheap" he says . . . . yeah, F*ck off.

Then another Vectra . . . 2.0L Diesel . . . A little bit more but 127,000 miles.

Not too bad I suppose but still a little high . . . . Plus the car's in Luton.
