N'ah, final position on the stand.

It needs to move forward 1/4" to allow the sump pan to be able to bolt up.

I'll post some piccy's as soon as my PC's back up.

Roadkill

UPDATE.

Alternator and brackets are now all done and re-fitted . . . Pics to follow . . .

Unfortunately it fought me all the way so there's notable "touching up" work to do in the area . . . nothing major . . Just more then I'd hoped for.

I've got a couple of bolts to swap out, then it'll be dragged into the middle of the floor to be final-fixed.

Roadkill

Obviously the main belt is also now re-fitted and tightened, too.

See page 3 for the last (full) pictures.

Fieldy

Ok, cool (did skip a couple!)

Roadkill

More pics as soon as my P.C at home is fixed.

ie. New Hard drive arrives . . . .

Pity I didn't take piccy's right at the start . . .

I brought the old motor ('72 MoPar 318ci) off of a guy Coventry way.  The motor was shot so I stripped it and cut out as much of the internals as possible with a hack saw and 9" angle grinder to reduce the weight.

4 hours a night, 5 nights in a row, black snot for 2 weeks.

Then the cleaning . . . then the surface prep . . . paint.

Then sourcing all the shiny bits plus other bits like a coils, dizzy cap, leads, plugs , filter, hoses  . . . . etc . . . etc  . . .

is it ordered yet ? ??

Roadkill

O.K, Update.

Alternator all done.
Core plugs all fitted and done.
Rear main cap, painted and fitted.
Has now been final postioned and fixed.
Levelled.
Sump has been bolted up.
"Plug" in rear (crank) is fitted.
Positioned on top of "carpet protection plate".

Basically need to fit a couple of bolts to the intake manifold . . . this may require taking the manifold off . . .

Need to fit a vacuum line from dizzy to carb.

Also the whole thing needs the paint touching up here and there . . . mainly on the main stand support, though - the paint on that is knackered !

Roadkill

BTW.

Piccies will follow when I've touched the paint in . . at least !!!

ianjpage

looked very nice at the weekend mate!

Roadkill

Question'll be . . . what next ?

ianjpage

Welllll............theres the dining table, The BBQ, the TV cab.....hmmm a few to choose from

Roadkill

And the "cocktail" table.

- That was Project "5"

Titsy

Do the straight 6 table with the moving pistons....

I have a selection of motors for the crank drive ready and waiting for it...

That's an expensive one.

Project #5's a "cheapie" one.

Roadkill

MODIFICATIONS . . .

I've never been happy with the arrangement of this.

The stand I had assembled works O.K but I'm just not happy with it . . . .

Instead I'm gonna get an "Engine stand" made up . . . completely custom of course, fully powder-coated and re-fit the engine to that which, IMO, will look much better.

It'll make it much safer and much more portable in future.

Also it'll free up the wheel on which it sits for my next project.

ianjpage

heheh kewl so all done by next week then lol

Hmm this may have to been dropped as I've changed jobs, now.

Anyway.

It dawned on me that I'm incredibly close to finishing this so I'm gonna have a go at getting it done over christmas once the bathroom's done.

Just a few bolts to put in and some paint to touch up and I think that's it . . . .

Got the Humber BBQ to do next year . . .
