Should be fitting the remaining front pulleys tonight.

Next job is the alternator . . . . . . getting there !

Roadkill

Laser cut parts in place.

You'd never have thought It didn't have a Crank !!!

Still needs an alternator to get the belt tightened . . .

Yep - It's really getting there, now.

Definately got to get it done for Christmas . . .

Next (and last) big job is the alternator which I'm starting tomorrow . . .

Then it's just a couple of little bits here and there.

I'm really looking forward to having it done so I can move on to the next project.

Roadkill

Just been trying to separate the alternator internals from the casing.

The pulley's to weak to take a puller so I'm just glad it's only going on a paperweight 'cos I've just ground off the pulley.

Hopefully more joy tomorrow . . . .

Roadkill

This alternator is really pi$$ing me off !

I'm guessing it's not supposed to be taken apart as it's not like other alternators I've stripped.

The pulley's off but I'm struggling to separate the casing from the coil/spindle.

There's a very bizarre bearing arrangement . . . . I'm just gonna remove parts of the casing around the bearing until (hopefully) the case comes free . . . .

No.

Rear seal now primered . . . I need to buy another can of paint as I'm on dregs from when I finished the block months back . . . . TBH - the paint's probably gone "funny" with so little in the can, anyway . . . .

I've got tomorrow off so should get a couple of bits done . . .

ianjpage

kewl sounds like it bve done soon then!!

Happy to report that, after using a  modified timber hole cutter, the Alternator casing is FINALLY separated from the internals !!!

And I've managed to save one of the internal fan blades.

I must admit - it's gonna take a bit of work tidying it up, filling and repairing the damage to make it presentable . . . .

But, Hey.

Gives me something to do over the Christmas holidays.

kewl glad to hear you finally won the fight !!!
