Good, he's got traction bar kit and a prop loop to fit to mine . . .  and SFC's to fully weld in.

philoldsmobile

i still may be persuaded into SFC's in due time....

If you enjoy driving your car (which I believe you do ), you will enjoy it EVEN MORE with SFCs.

Having T-tops, the difference will be even more noticeable on yours than it was on mine.

FUBAR

Ok, just got back from Rocky's

They reckon circa £300 - 350 to basically fix all the problems with my floorpan.
Aparantly they use thicker steel that other peeps too...

They are getting my car next saturday

Nice, he seals it up inside and out too.

FUBAR

He said to me "Do you have a current MOT on this car?

Yes...

"How did it get one??"

sweet.. so basicly you can scrub structural rot from the list of things that need doing..

this could work well, i need to go pick up that compressor tank on saturday, and could use a hand, i guess you will need a lift back from rockies too, plus its in the same sort of area as the tank.....

i see a plan formulating here!

FUBAR

They were going to drop me at Watford Junction which is like 1 mile down the road, but if you need a hand that could be arranged, i'll be aiming to get to watford about 11:30 - 12 on Sat.

philoldsmobile

works fine, the compressor place in wellyn is open till 12, so if we could get to rockies about 11, that would work out fine.

philoldsmobile

mapquest reckons they are 14 miles and 27 mins apart.

FUBAR

Changed the Oil Pressure Sender last night (Graeme i'll bring that Teflon Stuff with me on sunday to give back to you)
1stly why the hell didn;t I just do that months ago?? Phil's description of it being a B1tch to get to was misplaced.  10 Min Job!

When it came off tho, the old one rattled... new one doesn't... thats probably a good thing.  Hopefully this will have cured my Oil Leak! (for now)

He probably read it was hard to do on a forum

philoldsmobile

depends where the elbow is pointing.. you may have been lucky, but mine left the sender in a terrible position, and almost impossible to get to..

by he nature of it being on an elbow, they aint always pointing the same way..

lets hope you lose less oil now..

also kudos for having a go and doing the job yerself! is the reading of the guage any different?

Roadkill

So the oil leak wasn't the Dizzy gasket, then ?

FUBAR

will find out when i've cleaned it up & run it around for a bit, need to get it back 1st though.

Roadkill

Pretty sure the Dizzy gasket wasn't it, Mate . . . . I've had cars with NO Dizzy Gasket and they were fine.

When you picking her up ?

FUBAR

Before I changed the sender I had a very close look around & the only Oil was around the sender... problem solved hopefully.

I should be picking her up on saturday if all goes to plan, probably having the interior pulled out as we speak...

I'll post piccies when I get them, Richard said he was going to take piccys through the process & when finished before he puts all the interior back which is good

Rocky cleaned up the floor of the car today, reckons an extra £200 on top of previous quote of £350 to fix all requested problems

Good Job I built in a contingency budget!!!

Not happy with having to spend money on this but it NEEDS doing & will make the car much better in the long run.

gotta take the rough with the smooth dude...

Jamieg285

Look at it from the positive side, there'll be years of not having to worry about the floor again.

FUBAR

Yeah true, I'm sick of rust how the hell did a 19yr old car get so rusty!  although just thank the lord its not in Valiant Territory!!!
