It will probably be easiest if I call you when I get home from the gym.

I'd dye them Black personally . . . Not red.

Would off-set nicely against the rest of the interior IMHO.

Yeah that would work and hide any marks on the leather

Roadkill

All that Red did look Pimptastic, though.

FUBAR

i'm in 2 minds whether to dye them at all...

I've got a while to decide though

Personally, IMO, I don't think the tan and Red work . . . (at all)

FUBAR

If the interior was tan it would work with the colour of the car for sure but it does look a bit mixed inside atm. No doubt i'll be changing my mind a million times over the next couple of months.

<sigh>

The MKB way . . .

FUBAR

I wonder if all the 4th gen interior plastics would fit...

I think part of the problem is the black plastics.  Too many colours.

IMO, black seats would look better.

When I had the MOT last week the sniffer detected that my idle mixture was really rich, so this evening I thought i'd investigate.

I found the screws both on the front of the carb (1 each side) recessed into the body, I turned each one just 1 turn anti-clockwise for now & it idles a lot happier on initial startup, however it still misses a bit when its warm and is still (but to a lesser extent) hesitant when pulling away from a full stop

I don't want to fiddle with it too much atm because of its trip to the MOT man again tomorrow (just incase ya know  ) i'll have more of a play at the weekend because it also now idles too fast so will adjust that too.  wierd thing about that is though even if the engine's warm & you start it up it settles at circa 1000rpm until you rev it even just once where it settles at somewhere between 1250 & 1500rpm very strange.  any ideas what could be causing this guys?

Sounds like something I read recently.  Your timing advance may be out, and the carb has been adjusted to remedy it.

Get the timing right, then re-adjust the carb.

Disclaimer : I may be talking out my butt!

55starchief

Wouldnt be a bad idea to check timing especialy as it was a recon carb. Those idle screws are normaly adjusted with the aid of an air flow/ vacume guage

FUBAR

well the carb is new as I had to buy a rebuilt one from the US which was set for "Stock or Mildly Modified Engines" and is specific to my engine, however I'm assuming they set it a little rich at idle just to be on the safe side.

Doesn't explain the idle speeds though...

Could I borrow a timing Light? & some instruction on how to use it...

if the timing is slightly out the vacum advance would cause a idle fluctuation mate

FUBAR

aah ok thats just a twist the Dizzy Cap round job to adjust that isn't it?
