1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6 5.0 TPI with 4 speed auto.  Californian import Feb 2001.  Owned by me since Feb 06.

Resprayed 18 months ago in original Gunmetal Grey including all new Decals, Black Velour interior, recent brakes all round and less than 6000 miles on the tires (Kumho Ecsta 245x50/16), t-tops with t-top bag, aftermarket single CD Player. custom Firebird Mats, new hood struts, new alternator, manual fan override switches (just for my piece of mind), PHS documentation, air-con recharged in May 06 with R12 which is still cold!  All electrics work.

Tax: end July 08.  MOT: end June 08

Sensible mods include: aftermarket Cold Air Intake, Borla Stainless Steel Cat-back exhaust system with QTP electric cut-out, Hypertech Chip,  Bought a set of SFC's via ebay.com, painted them but never fitted them - these will be supplied with the car.

Very reliable - regularly used.  Very good condition, needs little to be perfect.

Bad bits:  uses a little oil on start-up, probably needs new valve guide seals as it doesn't leak and doesn't burn it on use.  Couple of stone chips but nothing major - correct touch-up stick bought from the US goes with car.

Attached pictures are before decals went on - i will get some more once weather allows :)

If you're looking for a 4th gen V6 make sure you give it a good test drive first.

Having driven/owned both 3rd and 4th gens I was very disappointed in the 4th gen - the 3rd gen is a much better drivers car.

Vickys 4th gen 'Maro is a different ride from my old one but hers has been stiffened and lowered with bigger alloys.

Test drive a few V6's before giving your Formula up, you may well prefer to stick with what you've got.

Not trying to put a dampener on you, just speaking from my own experience.

Thanks for the advice.  As hubby's got a 97 Trans-Am I've got some idea of what to expect with regards to the handling.  His handles like it's on rails.  Even though my Formula has the WS6 package and is reasonably stiff - the 4th gen is a much more modern stiffness (ooer!! lol)

Ok she didn't sell on ebay last week - had so many watchers etc but must be that time of year as have noticed a lot of cars on ebay not hitting their reserves.  So I have put her back on ebay - lowered the price to £2850 and the reserve.  So please keep your ears to the ground if anyones looking for a new car

I'm off to look at a car on Saturday so wish me luck
