Well I was hoping to get 30k miles out of the Panda tyres but at just short of 28k, the rears were under 2mm and the fronts not far off

Demanded to see the receipt and then quoted £70 to fit , valve & balance
Quick Fit wanted £89 something

So I went to see Big Gary

I was given his number a while back as someone who could do tyre fitting ?

Basically runs a garage in his back garden but has a four post hoist and all the tyre fitting gear including a computerized balancing m/c.

OK so it took him an hour and a half but all four fitted, valved & balanced for £30

So what next ??

Well she's due another service at 30K and there isn't many miles left in the front brake pads, interestingly the Fiat service guide doesn't even recommend inspection of the rear shoes until 40k

Total sh1t..  I used Spicers in MK when I bought Cooper Cobras for my van a while back.  They were from a deal off the net too, spicers did it for 15 quid a tyre IIRC..  Took them about 15 mins

I've had some cheapie tyres from them before (chav'scort) and have always been happy.

Don't mind saving some money by not paying for the major brands advertising, but at the end of the day the tyre is all that keeps your car on the road

Just found the tax disc reminder in the letter box because I'd forgotten it runs out at the end of April
12 months = £35 dropping to £30 next year

Decided to get all the tyre soap and old wheel weight sticky pads off the wheels. Loads of Wonder Wheels & brake cleaner later they ain't looking too shabby
