Dean, did you find those order forms?
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Roadkill

No, but i'll have another look . . .

philoldsmobile

paul from northants wants a form, too..

Jamieg285

I have one (somewhere) I will have a look for it. (Don't hold your breath though. Probably quicker to contact them and ask them to send them out.

Rocky

Trying to set up a deal with them at the mo,does anyone know much about them,I know they run from a PO BOX number, but all the plates i have had from them are top quality

Jamieg285

The plates are good, I had a set last year.

I didn't deal with them(Xmas pressie), but the concerns I heard about after was the time it took for them to deliver (and I have heard this from other people too.

The chrome surrounds they sell are CRAP.  Mine have started rusting within 6 months of fitting.  I am going to have to remove them and get a better quality re-chrome.

Rocky

I know a good chromer but hes expensive.I heard they take a bit of time to be delivered. Its probabaly some bloke in a garage somewhere making them.

Jamieg285

The other theory is that it's the good old fashioned Prison presses in the States and he has to wait for delivery from them.

Please let me know the details of the chromer, I need to get some quotes.

These guys are the best platers in the UK. When my mate had his motorsport fab shop he had all the plating done by them. Every component prodrive took was plated by that company, All the wishbones and axle stands etc.

Only down side is they are not cheap, from memory they quoted £2k+ to re chrome my bumpers for the 55

Roadkill

I've spoke a couple of times to Wooburn Plating . . . They specialise in Auto chroming and quoted (up to) £380 for the Caddy's front bumper !!!

That is "Triple" chrome plating with Zinc preped coating to the back (unseen) face.

I think a lot of the cost is the amount and quality of the polishing they do

Rocky

you get polishers and shiners always go with a good polisher, our guy does gold plating, and he has the largest tanks in the UK,does all the stuff for Arab palaces etc, also have another place round the corner hes ok bit cheaper.

I want all the pontiac stainless and chrome plated with Ruthenium. Its an eliment from the platinum group but looks like chrome until the light changes when it goes smoke color. Found a place up in hull that can plate it at a reasonable cost but not sure of their tank sizes.

yeah my mum bought them. Will ask her if she still has the form. BTW I had a real problem with getting them though. They do not have a telephone number so you are pretty stuck if they do not contact you. Was beginning to think they were dodgy when eventually the plates came. It took several months and they had taken the money. There is a fax number and that is how you have to place the order. I tried to send off a couple of faxes to chase up Jamie's pressie but no one bothered to contact us. Pretty rhubarb if you ask me.

Still, will ask my mum if she still has the form...

States plates are famed for their poor comunication and slow turn-around . . . .

Their plates are second to none, though.

philoldsmobile

had states plates on my cutlass, they were excelent, dont recall the dilivery being that slow either, must have been lucky..

Roadkill

Bugger, forgot to pick up the fax details this morning !!
