Another case of Ferrari flambé involves a beautiful black 599 GTB Fiorano, which self-ignited at a stop light while being driven by someone who wasn't even the car's owner.
Martin Bullen, who works at supercar garage Romans International in Banstead, UK, was at the wheel when he heard a strange sound followed by a brilliant display of smoke and fire.
The £250,000 exotic was a total loss, and the 28-year-veteran of the high-end garage had to inform his boss of the Ferrari's fate.

Garage owner Paul Jaconelli said he wouldn't hold the destroyed 599 against his employee, and that the vehicle was still covered under warranty

Could see many other garages paying out in similar circumstances ???????

I'd say so that the rear calipers are cooled by the vent in the front of the rear wheel arch

im sure theres a good design reason,
but if the calipers were at the bottom surely they would get more air flow..

I've just checked BM - both sets of calipers are on the back of the hub. I'll ask JW when I speak to him next, he'll know

and more crap and water etc in the rain

I remember a Citroen I had inboard front discs, you had to jack the engine up to change the pads

Kenny

It's probably just to make the routing of the brake lines easier and shorten the length.

Just a guess though...
