EDGE

these things are self perpetuating though, people see this article, panic and go and fill up when they wouldnt normally, thus causing a slight shortage, more people panic and drain the setrol stations....

dumbasses......

Fieldy

Yeah tis true, trouble is for me im now at customer sites for the next week solid, so i need to make sure i do have enough fuel to get there, so will have to go buy some today / tomorrow incase all the idiots do run the other stations dry .....

EDGE

and so it begins..................

Big Mouse

Do we know what dates and where? I'm heading for Dover early on Thursday morning to go to Belgium and will be mightily pee'd off if I get stuck in a queue as much as I might support them.

ianjpage

not reallt - the BBC news site has much the same story but doesn't say where

Pod

It does say Shell garages only, so there should be plenty of other options.

Roadkill

Hell, you should see petrol over here, in the U.S !

EDGE

tescos petrol station was RAMMED yesterday, i was on fumes in the chavscort so stopped in for some dip, didn't fill up though as there was no need to cause a shortage just for the sake of it.... there was an old dude there filling a jerry can though...... fu*king marvelous.... he only drives a 106, that'll go on forever on £20 of dip.. no need to fill it THEN fill a jerry can.... FFS !!

It was me

NB : I get funny looks when filling a 2 gallon can with petrol in a diesel car

I use the petrol for my Beatch, I can't be done with taking my helmet off and walking inside to pay before I fill the tank when on a bike

Todays headlines :

"Gordon Brown has told motorists not to panic buy at the pumps as tanker drivers prepared to strike "

We are saved

Meanwhile one of the largest energy companies in the world, Russia's Gazprom, has warned that oil prices could rise from today's closing price of $131 a barrel to $250 in 'the foreseeable future'

Flip Martian

effing 'ell - I'll be cycling to the station in the mornings before long...

EDGE

get a job working from home .... 'tis the best way !!

my commute is about 4 seconds, but if the wife's in the hallway too the traffic can and age...

saves a fortune on gas, probably puts £200 back in my pocket, not to mention 4 hours per day of my life that i used to spend commuting!!!

Flip Martian

I'm working on it, as it happens! As it involves retraining and building up a clientele (no gay jokes please!) its probably a good 18 months away at least, though. Can't bloody wait!

HardRockCamaro

The Caddy has half a tank in it.
I have to visit a potential customer on Monday and do some local running around at the weekend but apart from that I only need to get too and from the office which is a 6 mile round trip.  And if worst came to worst I can just work from home.  3 supermarkets within walking distance too.
So frankly if the pumps run dry I don't care...

art b

it has not looked to bad here at the fuel stations, probably people are starting to use less as its so expensive
This forum needs, ''YOU'' posting,Not just reading ! :moon:

Kenny

I've been to 3 petrol stations since the strike was announce.  once to get fuel (I was empty) and twice this morning to find a frigin cash machine.

All three were completely clear, wouldn't even need to que for a pump. seems the public is learning not to listen to the media...
either that or the dumbarsses haven't woken up yet

Well it'll be interesting to see what happens in Luton, because we normally have queues because we have so few petrol stations and it's not unusual to see signs saying " No Diesel "

Cunning Plan

Apparently, I heard from a work college, there was que'ing around the Stacey Bushes in MK fuel stations this morning..
