My pain in the arse neighbor who thinks I exist just to lend him tools and fix things which he can't be bother to do, has been pestering me to fix his generator for the last two weeks
A few weeks ago he bought the 4 stroke generator for £80 to run a popcorn m/c at car boot sales, it ran for about 3 hours and then stopped.
After yet another session of pleading I took my socket set to it tonight :

Took the fuel tank off the top to reach the spark plug, surprisingly it was sparking well and I could see the exhaust valve moving up and down when I pulled the starter. It just didn't feel right though, even with the spark plug fitted there seemed to be very little compression
So I took the cylinder head off and found :

So I then checked the oil level and it wasn't even on the dipstick, the plonker has run it almost dry and it's started to seize and then snapped the conrod
No sign of the big end bearing either, just a lot of bits inside the crankcase

But wait it get's better

Oh he's say's looking at the bit's, can't you glue it back together so I can use it this weekend until I can get it fixed
