I've got problems with my lights at the moment and I'm considering a complete re-wire, with new switches too.

I'd like to know if the sidelights and headlights need to be operated separately, i.e. both come on at the same time, with the same switch, or do they need to be separate, i.e. I need to be able to turn on side lights on their own?

I've looked through a few MOT sites, and none of them mention it/make it clear.

Anyone got opinions/knowledge?

Roadkill

I WOULD'VE THOUGHT YOU'D NEED TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THE SIDELIGHTS ON ON THEIR OWN.

I seem to remember something mentioned about them in the highway code when parking.

Mind you that was a few year ago, now.

they would be best seperate,
you wouldnt want your full lights, on if parked up in the dark for any amount of time,
This forum needs, ''YOU'' posting,Not just reading ! :moon:

OK, I think I've found a switch that will do what I need now.

Next headlight related question:  When switching from dipped to high beams, do you have to turn off the dipped filament in the bulb, or can you use both filaments at the same time?

Fair do's, one extra relay required then.
