Lets see a picture with the Caddy in there?

As much as I'd like to it'll probably be the Camaro that sees it first.

The Caddy is still 100% legal and on-the-road so she'll stay out to go to a few shows this year.

As I've been decorating inside Castle Roadkill I've been taking down the tin signs I've had there and putting them up in the garage . . . . Net result I now have, pretty much, floor-to-ceiling tin signage.

(Excuse the mess - I'm mid-ebaying)

No.  I don't think so.

Yup - I've still got about 10 left over !!!

I reckon I've spent over (well over) £400 over the years on tin signs !

EDIT - Plus my Two Enamelled "Cadillac Service" one was £25 and my Enamelled "1958 Caddy" one was £24, IIRC.

Holy signs Batman

Lets hope the pikeys don't see all that metal hanging around

To summarise :

This has been a continuing saga since moving into Castle Roadkill in 2004 but the latest and biggest extension was finished in Feb 2010.

Then on 22nd December 2010 I had an massive leak in the form of FIVE separate burst pipes (my lagging clearly didn't do it's job).
http://www.mkb.cc/forum/index.php?action=vthread&forum=18&topic=10656&page=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.mkb.cc/forum/index.php?action=vthread&forum=18&topic=10656&page=0

Repairs to the garage were very minor (given what could've been major damage) and the pipes reinstated during spring 2011.

In June 2011 (the weekend after my son was born), I started building "Jensen's playroom" - which was, in fact, a large convervatory on the rear of the house, connecting the main building to the garage extension.

The conservatory was finished in early November.

Then we had a LAN which, being late autumn, highlighted how much heat I loose out of the 290 sq. ft garage and its metal roller-shutter door.

So plans began on building a dividing wall, suitably placed so I can still use the garage to store upto a 20' long car with additional storage for bike(s) . . .

On the grand scheme of things a simple, unimpressive job for me but still a worthwhile note to properly tie up this thread methinks.

Pics to follow . . .

The garage end of the garage - this end will be kept unheated.
Size 20'6" x 8'4" approx.

Looking to the "office" end of the garage at the new divide.

The heated "Office / Daddy's playroom" end.
Size 15' x 8'4" approx.

Other side of the divide looking to the garage end.

The "old" cupboard and worktop removed to free up useable space.

The plan is to make the heated end entirely carpet tiled, repaint walls and ceiling.  Install a further 2x double sockets.  The dividing wall (which is insulated with 50mm polystyrene) will have double doors in to allow a (large) motorcycle (watch this space) to be moved into the area for future winter storage.  One wall will also house my recently acquired axe collection.  My roll cab will become a permanent resident in the heated area, FYI.

Truly shaping up to be a home from home.

Been busy (to say the least) recently so I won't bore you with loads of words and description.

Instead I'll just update the "Jensen's Playroom" project by adding a few photos of the finished build from June to November this year :

And then add a few pictures of the works done over the last few days to make "Daddy's Playroom"

My New Get-away :

And the View back :

Just need to fit another guitar hanger for the fifth guitar and refit my tin signs.

Then some bits to do with the double doors which I'll tackle when the weather gets a bit warmer.

I'll update this again, then.

And if you're wondering . . . . the kitchen is getting re-fitted next (already started).

Well done dude, looks so good.

Wow you make me feel lazy (and I am always trying to be productive).

Wow! That's awesome dude!

Does that wood on the exterior need refinishing?

Don't say that around the GF or you might be needing your own Playroom!

I'll do it next year but it'll be good for another couple as is.  Need to do the fence out back too, so i'll do it all together.

In fairness I probably appear to make most look lazy.  The older I get the harder I find it to sit still - despite trying harder to do exactly that.

This last project was pretty much "out of the blue" but I'm convinced that once the kitchen is redone that all the notable house-related projects will be done for a few years.

I'm hoping that's the case so I can concentrate on Auto-related projects from then-on.

all looks good as usual....
ideal how it all links together...  was it a new conservatory ?

its a pity you have done all that work only to be booted out to live in the shed...

yeah.

I found a company online that makes the framework and cuts the glass to the specs you give them.
I had to do the foundation, base and the walls and they provide the glazed bits.

Is the roof glass or plastic?

Is the door wider than usual?

It's two 24" doors . . . I needed to create a gap big enough to fit a large motorbike through (hopefully future-proofing !!) and that seemed the best way.

The door which will be on the left will be fixed most of the time with the main access back and forth through the right hand door.

EDIT - note the curtain rail above the door, too ? - That'll hopefully help cut the drafts and heat-loss during winter as I have a fairly thick curtain to go on, there.

Frame is now undercoated and sanded down.  Was hoping to top coat last night but ran out of time.

Roadkill

At least something's going well . . .

Got the frame top coated and the doors test-fitted.  All good.

Will final fix the doors tomorrow, fit the four barrel locks and maybe fit the latch and handle . . . depends if I think the top-coat is dry enough for it to shut on . . .
