You deserve a medal for driving that in this lot

Ian left Swindon at about 4:30. Normally takes about 1hour 20 minutes from his work.
Not sure how long it will take tonight

Will have to get Phil to put up a pic of the snowman he's made in the front garden, it is very good.

Phil and Shifty then made an igloo over Shifty's this afternoon

FUBAR

Sweet

wossat then?

It stops the gearbox selecting first gear (obviously the default) - hence reduces the risk of wheel spin.

My 4th gen was a Californian car and didn't have that option !

Was a bloody nightmare in snow.

Luton Borough Council ran out of gritting salt last night and now other councils are following suit
Talk about skating on thin ice ( pun intended )

Sort makes you wonder where the £45 billion in motoring taxes we pay goes

Well....I've been watching the live train departure board for Bletchley tonight as I WAS due to go to work......

It seems that London Midland Trains can't seem to figure out what any of the trains from Northampton to Euston are supposed to be doing until they are due at Milton Keynes, when unsurprisingly they announce they have been cancelled.

My only explanation is that either the Northampton bumpkins haven't got telephones yet or their really is a Bermuda triangle somewhere between here and there.....

So, I'm staying home with my bottle of Red and a movie about Ford ripping of an inventor about a windscreen wiper invention....

Well left for the gym at 05:30am and the roads were very slushy but fine, got to the Gym and it was open ( Good man Mikey )
Left the gym at 07:15am and it was starting to snow again, got a mile down the road and it was complete gridlock again

We may as well shut up the UK for winter

apart from the obvious answer  wossat then?

A Very handy button - basically electronically locks out 1st gear, meaning that when you pull away, it starts in 2nd gear i.e. in a manual put into 2 rather than one- means i can rev the engine slightly higher and get better traction and (hopefully) less spinnning wheels

Could admin (when he eventually gets home) please re-title this thread to Snow Week!! please as I feel that this is now a much more appropriate title

lol yeah ok will do

I think I'm going to miss the morning FBody "I cycled to the gym and then the roads were gridlocked-why is this country so bad at dealing with snow" morning rant once the thaw comes...

Looks very pretty here; don't think I've ever seen it snow as bad over such a prolonged period while I've been up in MK (almost 11 years). Apart from that weird freak snow storm we had a few years back 1 afternoon.

Roadkill

Did some donuts in the company car park this morning as I was the first one in . . . . . FWD, Auto Eldo for teh win !!!111

Well, everyday this week I've made it into work, but I'm just fed up now, so I got as far as the first car that was wheel spinning because it was stuck and turned around.

Nice and warm at home, besides I've got some time to make up on the drum kit!

After clearing the drive I did go and shovel something nasty in my neighbours front garden... we don't get on too well.
