Sockets .

Just bought a new set of tools from Halfrauds on the cheap (using a chrimbo voucher) and it was 50 quid cheaper than it should have been cos it missing some sockets and has duplicates of others.

So....does anyone have any of the following sockets that i can either swop or buy or have??

1/4" drive, these type, the type were the socket is the shape of the nut head, not like the ones above

7mm got these now - bought a set on ebay so have added more to the ones i don't need!

1/4" drive, deep socket, same type as above
10mm

1/2 " extension bar

3/8" extension bar


The duplicates i have are all halfords Pro stuff and this is the list:
1/4" drive - 13mm, 12mm, 10mm, 6mm
1/4" drive - 11/32 (2 of!)
3/8" drive, no1 / ph1 screw driver bit

Sorry, I've only get the one big Halfords Pro set so no spares...

You could probably buy the individual pieces from Halfords for about £30?

Yup already pricing some of them up - although they are nice n cheap on ebay - even for draper ones are like  2 quid a socket inc post!!

Draper (and Sealey and Stanley) stuff were good about 25 years ago - but they're rubbish, now.

If there's no Halfords stuff on eBay then wait . . .

yup, and unlike snap on or mac, you are always going to be able to find a halfords.

the warranty on my mac and snap on stuff isn't worth anything, because i dont know any snap on or mac dealers.


snap on is over priced crap, too. Mac isn't much better.

ive a halfrauds pro set, about 5 yrs
well recomended,
never broke anything but ive lost a couple of bits [lendin em to my neighbour] and i use a 3ft steel tube on the skt bar a lot of the time,
have twisted an allen key bit but its ok,

I broke a large Torx bit in the set when I was removing the intake manifold onthe IROC.  It was me vs the bolt and I wasn't going to give in and neither was it.  Sadly the socket wasn't up to the job...

I took it back.

They insisted on a receipt and I pointed out I clearly bought it there as it said Halfords on it and I was clearly entitled regardless of age as it had a lifetime warranty.  So they coughed up the bit.

Very nice set imho.
