well,

I was looking, found one, i was going to make an offer on a white merc. Even phoned the guy with a proposed deal, but my wife had to break her silence and admit she has already bought me one as a surprise while working in cohootz with a forum member on AVO

Well, the end result is this....

It has the 2.5i auto which is the exact engine i wanted, almost all original and 100,000 on the clock....

EDGE

thats pretty cool dude, and a 325 too....

now.. if you can get your mits on a 323 motor i know a guy that can build you a nice little 2.8 stroker motor for that....

the plan is to keep totally standard, clean and ready to sell at any time....

i strongly believe the E30's are only going to raise in value if its clean and original.....

Shifty

Not much of a Bimmy Disler fan but that is actually quite cool and very tidy looking to, nice one dude.

Well the early 90's E30's seem to last very well with a little TLC

HardRockCamaro

I do like those.  The one and only decent 3-series they ever made imho.

i'd not say no to a nice tidy E30 2 door 325 manual....

keep 'er nice, and you wont loose any money on that!

Incursus

Not my bag but it does look very tidy

you look at the cars BMW was producing in the 80's, and what they produce now, and you have to wonder how they lost their way so badly...

FUBAR

Looks good m8, (couldn't see pics at work, only Shiftini's funny comments )

Like the colour too

My E30 has done nothing but drop in value, at one point i was offered 10k in the late 90's

I think the new bmw's are much nicer, no offence fieldy, just not my cuppa. It is very clean though.

drove to Wales yesterday to collect her. My Citroen never missed a beat, all the way down the M4, sat between 65-70MPH, 76MPG

was worth the trip, the car was exactly as the seller explained. everything works except the OBC, and it needs the fan belt replacing (new one included).

drove all the way back sat at around 70MPH, averaged 30MPG when i filled it back up and calculated it. I did put my foot down a couple of times, of course. She went like a dream! what a difference between the 1.8 and 2.5i. Auto, which changes beautifully.

The tracking needs to be done and i think a good service. But overall a very cool car IMO

Well its a nice colour and it looks tidy enough. Beemers are almost 10 a penny in MK though - every bugger seems to have one. Even my Dad drives a recent diesel 320...he loves them.

Might be tempted by the old one as a convertible, they're quite smart looking.

My ex brother in law had a similar 3 series actually - it was all black with tinted windows. Proper pimp's car it was (we reminded him of that constantly).

Much much prefer the newer ones but at the end of the day its an Audi I would go for new or old.

the two coupe's I had were great! very comfortable and good fun to drive....ahh the good old pre yank days

Edit: See now you have me itching to go and have a look on Autotrader

New ones? I have always liked the E30's, they are becoming more rare....

Now is the time to buy and maintain. They will be to expensive to justify soon.

I love 'em in black, but the pimpest car is still the Olds Truffle

Indeed, I've always had a soft spot for the older Audis.

Very true - every photo of that came with a built in soundtrack "wakka wakka" 70s guitar...
