I've now confirmed that I won't be required at work on this weekend, so the dates are now definite and it's time to start the planning. Food and drink need to be bought and jobs worked out.

Can anyone whose able to come over please let me know which days/times you'll be able to assist.

Fri - not expecting anyone, but you're still welcome
Sat - 11am onwards
Sun - until finished and car driveable?

Does anyone want to stay over for food/drinks/social on either evenings? Anyone welcome.

I'll still be there, the only problem I may is my aurtherightus in the cold
My hands are useless once they get numb, may be we could have a bonfire

Incursus

Not sure I'm going to make it sorry.

With the Xmas party Friday night and another bash Saturday Evening I just wont have enough time in the day to be much use.

Fek.  You've lost all your helpers !

I'll try and shuffle a few things around, Jamie and see what I can do.

Saturday's a definate no-no, though as I need to take my Mum shopping then assist my parents with a few things . . . . among various other jobs.

Providing Sammy can make her way in I'll do my best to get over on sunday.

Jamieg285

Thanks Dean.

Sunday's the important day, as it's the one where everything needs to back in, so your assistance will be very welcome

Progress on my own today has been good. 90% prepared for the lift. Probably less than half an hours work to go once there are 2 pairs of hands tomorrow. Then comes the repairs, and we'll see how that goes.  Feeling fairly optimisitic with it so far.

Just cycled home from work & it's just dropped below 5c

F Body

I was working outside at home earlier and it was 5c, so looks like it will warm up later

Let the games begin

Fieldy

Good luck with it.... I am no where near you so I can't help.....

Well the day so far for the two of us :

Jamie already had a lot disconnected before I arrived :

Bonnet removed.

Engine & Gearbox out.

Gear box separated.

Engine sump off and main bearing removed.

New main bearing seals & neoprene sump gasket fitted.

New flex plate fitted.

Gearbox re-fitted.

Buggered about with a new light weight starter motor for ages and then gave up deciding to re-fit the old one

Engine and gearbox returned to car.

Rear gearbox cross member fitted, the worse job of the day

Left hand headers re-fitted.

Battery refitted.

Holes drilled in front scuttle to fit stay bars at a later date.

Alternator re-fitted.

Power steering pump re-fitted.

All drive belts re-fitted and tensioned.

Oil sensor & water sensors re-fitted.

Bonnet re-fitted.

and quite a few other things that I've forgotten ( Loads of pictures but they are still on my mobile, until I upload at work ).

Sunday's Plan.

Re-fit the starter motor.

Then the right side headers above it.

Re-fit the gearbox mount.

Tighten the front engine mounts.

Fit the prop shaft.

Fit radiator & electric fans & hoses.

Make some modifications to the wiring harness, with my heat gun iron.

Re-fit the transmission oil lines.

Fit carburettor & fuel lines.

Work out which of the many wires go where

Change the oil filter, refill with clean oil.

Refill the gearbox oil - Jamie's drive is now officially called Q8

Fill with anti-freeze.

Refit the distributor, cap & plug leads.

Time the engine - well it can only be 180 degrees out at worst

and lots of other things I've forgotten

That'll be an early start in the morning then

Good ole Martyn, not only does he spend all day helping out, he does the progress report too!

Not much I can add to that.
