Amey

As some of you already know, my 30th is in a months time (19th Feb )

Currently trying to work out what to do to celebrate

Have been thinking about either going bowling with a meal or just going out for a Chinese meal somewhere

What would people prefer?
What are the Chinese restaurants like in MK?
Can anyone recommend/suggest anywhere nice?

Had a quick look online.
Have found First Class restaurant in Stoney - looks nice and serves a good selection including sushi - prices look about £9ish for a main course

Also found Kam Tong Gardens in great holm - on Friday 19th they are holding their chinese new year main celebration so it's a set menu with 3 courses. It's £19.95 per head and includes fireworks, Karaoke & Disco

I know there's the Jasmine Cottage in Oldbrook - unsure of prices and what it's like though

bloody hell Vicks always thinking of others its your birthday mi dear you decide what you would like

Paul and Rachel the connoisseur's that they are recommend Zen Garden its a buffet style place but good food.

Kam tong has been hit and miss for me, been a number of times with work.   Admittedly it has gotten better each time but when your not paying all food is good food

Oh the duck was very good plus sounds like a fun evening (except for the Karaoke ).
On the downside its in the middle of nowhere so going to drinks afterwards, assuming that is the intention is not ideal though there is the Globe? within walking ish distance.

I know it's my birthday - but really not sure what to do and also wanna make sure everyone has a good time

I've always been happy with the Kam Tong . . .

There's Elements (?) in the Theatre district but that's MEGA expensive.

That one near where frames used to be is O.K . . crap location but food's good.

MKB + Alcohol and Chinese food = good time

Check out Papaya  (Thai Restaurant)  http://www.papayamk.co.uk/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.papayamk.co.uk/

Its on Oxley park, been a few times, fantastic food & coped well with the large group that were there when we went one time.

Elements, great location for combining with bowling & everyone will find something they like, downsides, we waited AGES before...

Jasmine cottage in oldbrook I remember being nice when i've been.

There's a place in Newport too which is good but I can;t remember the name off the top of my head

I don't drink Red wine.

I do drink wine, though.

The Thai place ontop of the Jaipur is awesome . . . albeit a tad pricey.

If you want very good, relatively cheep, buffet style then Zen gardens is the best in MK.

If you want great quality and to hell with the cost, then Orchid lounge is your place.

For your average MKB'er I'd recommend Zen because, as chris says, we're easy to please

Zen is about 10 - 15 mins walk from xscape depending on levels of drunkenness.  Probably good to walk off some of the food before you bowl.

The "Dragon Boat" at the top end of the city near the pool club?

Think thats what it's called?

That place was alright.

Slight change of plan, but not much.

Will still be having a Chinese meal out somewhere Friday evening, but will now also be having a party round here on Sat
(yeap I really am that special to get 2 celebrations )

Apparently my Mum & Ian were going to try and arrange a surprise party for Saturday evening, but Mum couldn't plan it very well and also the fact that doggie would need to go into kennels - I would be questioning why she was not around.

Looks like Zen Gardens is getting the best MKB reviews - plus won't break the bank too much to eat there.
If we wanna carry on with the drinks afterwards then can wander over to Xscape. Or people that are working Sat can have an earlyish night and then party proper on Saturday night.

I already know that Dean & Sammy are attending a wedding reception on the Sat evening from 7pm - so they may be a bit late. Would everyone else be able to make it?
Will also setup another event thing on facebook
