for those with an interest,

i have just started making this simple and cheap white wine,

imho.. due to the vast amout of info on the net,
homebrewing has took off recently with some very good beers and wines being made ,
the kits are now well put together with easy to follow instructions,

this "wurzels orange wine" is a winner....  [read the comments]

if you can keep things sterile,at the right temp and be patient you wont be dissapointed,
it will take around an hour per gallon, including all the faffing about...

there are a few set up costs,[minimal]involving yeast, sterilising tablets, air locks,a few different powders.
these are only used in small quantities so they are not that much of an expence [pennys per litre]

first expence, a couple of 5 litre [f/v] fermenting vessels.... 90p each including free water from the supermarket.....

obtain the yeast and other ingredients, the happy brewer in bedford is the market leader around here....
or ebay is a winner....[as always]

basic fruit juice wine,

into the f/v put;
1 carton of orange juice......80p
1  carton of grape juice.......80p

boil i litre of water in saucepan ,and dislove 1.5kg of sugar into it,£1.50
add to f/v with the juices,
give it a good shake to mix and introduce oxygen into it,

add i teaspoon of yeast,

place in warm place around 22deg for 1 week

topping up with the water from the supermarket until its nearly full,

after a couple of weeks you will have a drinkable wine,
it will improve with age,

this is the basic guide follow the forum below links for more involved/refined methods which i now use,

this wine when properly done is comparable with any white wine costing around a fiver per 75 cl...
but this costs around £3.00 a gallon...
